The main research directions of TICEL are focused on:
- Waste heat recovery in internal combustion engines
- Hybrid propulsion technology based on Solid Oxide Fuel Cell and Internal Combustion Engine
- Development of highly efficient and low-polluting small engines
- Combustion of alternative fuels
- Mitigation of target and GHG emissions from in-use vehicles
- Assessment of energy and environmental impacts of vehicles and transportation systems
Research projects are funded by the transport, petroleum and UAV industries, by the government, and by various foundations.
